I really appreciate being able to control charging schedule, charging hours and charging current from the comfort of my chair (or other) in the house without having to stand in the garage or set up screens in my car. I have a PHEV and no special circuits in the house, so a level 1 charger fits the bill for me. I don’t even charge at maximum rate as I seem to have plenty of charging hours available in the day or overnight. I had no issue getting the app and the charger to connect thru my home wifi. I might have ordered the cheapest Pion Power charger but it is big on features for me….

I bought this charger off their kickstarter project. Works well but I do have trouble connecting my phone to the app (it is somewhat glitchy). Need to lower the apps because it is too high for my parent’s electrical system. The 110 volts connection is better than the original that came with my EV (Volkswagen ID.4).

I researched for some time which portable level 2 charger to buy and decided to go with the Pion Power one. So far, I have in no way regretted my decision. Not only does it have a CSA rating, but it also came with a number of other features its competitors did not. Delivery was within 3 business days and the product came well packaged, including foam inserts between the outside box and the storing case it came in. I was also impressed with the fact that the one I purchased came with a mounting bracket, a J1772 plug in port, and a well-made, sturdy carrying case – not to mention the 22-foot cable (which has come in handy). I have used the charger nightly for almost a month now and am very pleased with its performance including the use of the APP to set on and off times.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Great cable, hardware to hold the handle works better than most. But the software requires you to set a schedule to charge when you plug in. Cannot charge otherwise unless you open the app and press start. And the main problem is that you can’t change the charge rate live. And you can’t enter multiple schedules and disable or enable them since they error out and claim they overlap. Please have an option to change charge rate without requiring a schedule. Or let us make multiple schedules that overlap hours and enable/disable them as we need. Sometimes I’m not at home, sometimes I want it to charge as fast as possible, sometimes I can’t because of the outlet I have available. It’s just a software limitation stopping this from being a great purchase.

this EVSE is so versatile as it can charge on standard 120V 15amp outlet to a 240V 32amp circuits. with the nema 30TT and Nema 6-50 adapter, it can be plug on almost any plug you will encounter while traveling and camping.
I like the ability to control it via wifi either from my home wifi or as a hotspot when i’m travelling.

portability makes it flexible, but i have one problem on that side. There is a circuit where breaker is only 20A, but when i plug my 40A charger unit it seems to be trying to take a full 40A instead of the available 20A. This circuit isn’t located where a wifi network is available so i can’t adjust the setting like i would do at home. Might be good to not pick an overkilled unit if your available circuit aren’t strong enough.

I’ve the 32A level 2 charger for my van. I really enjoy using this charger and am comfortable in having it installed in the garage. I like to see the the 3 temperature sensor values when charging in being done. The app for charger is good, I don’t like to login each time I want to check the app. Also there should be an option to charge without connecting to a network. It secures the charger, but cuts down on the convenience of using it as a travel charger. That being said, this can be used as a travel and fixed charger, supporting 120/240 V. I will definitely recommend it.

The App is useful in scheduling but it is somehow limited in capability. For example, I cannot pre-set the maximum % of charge. Also, instead of charging via the App, I would like to see capability to have hard buttons to start/stop charging, as well as a LCD screen to show status of the charging process.

We’ve had the PION Level 2 Flex-AC EV Charger 32A,7.6kW / 40A,9.6kW portable charger for just over 5 months and are very pleased with it. It has a solid construction and is very fast charging compared to a the Level 1 charger that came with our vehicle. It has been reliable for us so far. This charger comes with a very long cable, so we installed this in the garage close to the garage door so that we can charge our vehicle while inside the garage or if we park outside on either side of our double driveway. The App does require improvement.

I bought the Pion Flex-AC LE charger 40A 9.6 KW in Nov. 2023. After nine months I am thoroughly satisfied with the product.
The charger arrived in 3 days.
The support team members are professional and answered my Q&A within 24 hours.
Initially I did not plug in the pigtail properly into the charger. After sending a picture of the incorrectly plug in charger the team was able to advise of my mistake. Since then the charger worked as expected.
The charger is easy to use and I could change the amperage by simply press the button. This is a lot easier than other brands which involve downloading a troublesome app.
A longer 25ft cable would be nice. This is a trouble free charger. In 9 months I mostly used the 32A. Looking back I would have bought the 32A charger which would save a few dollars and perhaps a lighter cable.
